YOU GOTTA TRUST SOMEBODY

clapper-board

As we near closer to the start date on the film shoot, I am constantly reminded that I need to TRUST. I need to trust God of course first and foremost, I need to trust Him to do those things that I have no idea how to do, to give me wisdom and guidance, to give me favour and good weather or bad, depending on what the shot requires. But I also have to TRUST the crew around me, I need to trust that they will be able to do the task at hand and I need to trust that they are also trusting in God to give them the same help and guidance and in some cases full blown miracles at the last minute! And when things don’t go as planned, when we seem to fall short no matter what we do, we then need to TRUST that what we have is enough.

We live in a world that puts its trust in the wrong things; the things that appear to be secure, that claim to be right, healthy, safe and so on… yet more and more often these things end up breaking our trust…we soon find ourselves cynical and the concept of TRUST gets further and further away, or as I show in the film- it gets broken.

It’s so easy to TRUST the wrong thing– often the wrong thing appears to be the right thing. The saying, “it's too good to be true,” ends up being so accurate. We get so excited and jumping for joy when that big flashy deal or job or even person comes into our life and then slowly but surely it falls apart, or never comes to pass or betrays our trust altogether. Yet when God does stuff it never starts like this… it starts off small and without a hiss and a roar- no flash, no quick riches, no big pearly white cheesy smiles guaranteeing you a safe passage. No, it's normally clunky, awkward and unknown. It's small beginnings, there’s no rock solid guarantees because hey, God never likes to use those! Since he has already given us a guarantee – HIMSELF! – and in order to claim this guarantee you must TRUST Him…

So maybe its time to spend less time TRUST’ing in the wrong things and more time trusting in the RIGHT THING…
